Paddles in motion, water splashing, and plenty of team spirit! The second annual dragon boat race organized by Mendel University for its staff brought not only athletic performance, but also fun, collaboration, and friendly competition. Ten crews from across the university lined up to race — and this year’s victory proudly went to the Faculty of Horticulture MENDELU!

🥇 First place went to the crew “Eisgrub” from our faculty, who paddled their way to the top with great teamwork and determination.
🥈 The “Forest Arrows” from the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology secured second place with a strong and steady performance.
🥉 “Agronauts” from the Faculty of AgriSciences claimed third place after a thrilling fight to the finish.

But the event was about more than just speed — awards were also given for the best team chant, the most creative costumes, and even for the crew that took the most unintentional swims. The fair play award went to the university canteen team, who provided excellent refreshments and helped create a fantastic atmosphere.

A big thank you to everyone who paddled, cheered, and contributed to this unforgettable day! The dragon boat race is becoming a beloved university tradition, and we’re proud that this year, the Faculty of Horticulture MENDELU stood at the top of the podium.
