Modern viticulture has gained a new tool for the targeted nutrition of grapevines. The technology of deep point application of organic matter directly to the roots represents an effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional broadcast fertilization. The results of long-term research have shown that this method leads to a significant improvement in soil properties, supports vine growth and vitality, and increases the overall efficiency of fertilization.
The core of the technology is a newly developed application device that enables precise dosing of organic matter to the target depth of the root zone in a single pass of the machinery. The device is fully compatible with standard agricultural equipment and aligns with the principles of precision agriculture, automation, and the Industry 4.0 concept. The method is particularly suitable for organic and integrated viticulture, as well as for the revitalization of older vineyards or young plantings with uneven growth.
The development, validation, and economic evaluation of this technology involved a research team from the Faculty of Horticulture at Mendel University in Brno in cooperation with application partners—BS Vinařské potřeby s.r.o. and Hana Mádlová. A summary of the achieved results has been newly published in a professional monograph entitled Evaluation of Deep Point Application of Organic Matter in Viticulture, which provides a comprehensive overview of the benefits of this innovative technology for practical use. The technology thus represents a promising solution with the potential to significantly contribute to the further development of viticulture in the Czech Republic and abroad.
