The opportunity to nominate inspiring individuals for the Josef Vavroušek Award is open again.

13. 2. 2026

For the thirtieth time this year, the Josef Vavroušek Awards are being presented, recognizing outstanding individuals who actively contribute to the protection of nature and the environment. You can nominate both individuals and young inspiring people—for example, those who care for the landscape, engage in environmental education, or promote sustainability awareness. Applications can be submitted until 28 February via the form on the Nadace Partnerství website.

The award is named after the prominent Czechoslovak thinker, ecologist, and the first Federal Minister of the Environment, Josef Vavroušek, who dedicated his life to promoting a responsible relationship between society and nature. The award was established thirty years ago by the Charter 77 Foundation, and since 2014 it has been fully organized by the Nadace Partnerství Foundation. The laureates are selected by an expert jury composed of leading figures from the environmental field.

Previous recipients include Bedřich Moldan, Josef Fanta, Yvonna Gaillyová, Ondráš Přibyla, and Hana Librová. In the Ekozásek category for young inspiring personalities, past winners include Anička and Eliška Víravovy, Martin Trávníček, and Rozárie Haškovcová.

Do you know someone who is making the world a better place and deserves recognition? Nominate them and help highlight inspiring stories of people who care about the future of nature. 🌿
