In academic circles, Professor Miloš Pejchal is recognized as a renowned dendrologist and an expert on woody plants on a global scale. His work has influenced not only generations of students but also professional practice both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
After a brief five-year research career at the former Research Institute of Ornamental Horticulture in Průhonice, he dedicated his professional life to the Faculty of Horticulture at Mendel University in Lednice in 1978, where he continues to work to this day. His remarkable academic career has yielded significant results, greatly contributing to the faculty’s excellent reputation. With his unique approach, he continues to inspire students in key subjects such as dendrology and plant application.
Professor Pejchal’s expertise extends beyond teaching to include significant research on trees and their role in landscape compositions. He actively contributes to the development of methodologies and standards in tree care and is a frequent speaker at professional seminars and conferences. He was also a founding member and former chairman of the Society for Garden and Landscape Creation (SZKT), a member of the first editorial board of the journal Zahrada – Park – Krajina, and a council member of the Section for Tree Care (SPoD).
On this special occasion, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Pejchal, wishing him good health, happiness, and continued success in both his professional and personal life.
