Students of the Faculty of Horticulture Revitalized the Forecourt of Building C and Competed for the Best Design
On October 30 and November 6, 2024, a student competition focused on the revitalization of the forecourt at the street entrance of Building C took place at the Faculty of Horticulture. The aim of the event was to breathe new life into this space and create a showcase area of ornamental greenery that would serve not only as a representation of the faculty but also for educational purposes.
Six three-member student teams from various study programs of our faculty participated in the competition. During the two phases of implementation—including terrain modeling, soil preparation, irrigation installation, planting of greenery, and lawn seeding—students, under expert supervision, created aesthetically and functionally beneficial spaces.
The expert committee determined the winners of the competition:
1st place
- Branislav Beutelhauser
- Kristina Molnárová
- Sophia Krajčovičová
2nd place
- Jiří Matoušek
- Martin Pařenica
- Helena Iwaniecová
3rd place
- Adam Jakab
- Dušan Pavúr
- Eduard Chvosta
Each participant received a financial reward, and the top three teams were also awarded prizes by the Dean.
The entire event was a significant contribution not only to the faculty but also to the students, who gained valuable experience in landscape design implementation. Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to all participants for their dedication and creativity.
