We have some great news! Student works submitted to several competitions are currently being evaluated. The results of several of them are already known:
JOSEF VAVROUŠEK AWARD
Bc. Anna Sovová received an honorable mention for her bachelor’s thesis “Natural Cemeteries as a Landscape Phenomenon.” Anna’s work is truly exceptional in terms of its content, scope, and form! The ceremonial presentation of diplomas took place on November 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Small Hall of Karolinum, Charles University.

SCIENCE FOR THE EARTH, 10th year
Bc. Jana Bilíková won 2nd place for her bachelor’s thesis “Proposal for the restoration of a selected area in the cadastral territory of Jalubí in the Zlín Region.”
Bc. Aneta Grůzová won 3rd place for her bachelor’s thesis “Water in the landscape – a comprehensive analysis of the cadastral territory of Bořetice with an emphasis on the water regime of the area.”
Jana and Aneta received their awards on September 26, 2025, during the SCIENTISTS’ NIGHT AT THE NZM PRAHA 2025 event. Organizing organizations: National Agricultural Museum Prague, Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences, under the auspices of the Ministry of the Environment.
All works were created at our Department of Landscape Planning under the supervision of Ing. Eva Žallmannová, Ph.D. We warmly congratulate all “our girls” and thank them for their excellent representation of the field of LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE at the Faculty of Horticulture, MENDELU!
